The contractor wants to move my belongings into storage. What should I agree on first?

Moving belongings can protect them and make room for repairs, but ask why off-site storage is needed and whether safe on-site storage is practical. Request a photographed inventory, item-condition records, the storage address, access arrangements, cleaning decisions, transport and storage charges, and return arrangements in writing. Clarify who handles loss or damage and any proposed disposal. FloodSmart supports detailed contents records; CFPB recommends written agreements and tracking work and payments. Check insurance payment separately rather than assuming storage is covered.
