A localized repair may be possible, but the actual damage should determine the scope. Ask a cabinet or restoration specialist to assess the base, sides, supports and concealed damp areas, then explain what can be retained. EPA advises fixing the water source, drying completely and removing mold from affected materials before finishing. Do not treat a new liner or paint as proof that underlying damage is resolved. FEMA's flood training likewise favors case-by-case repair decisions rather than automatic replacement.
