The floor or wall feels dry. How do I know it is ready to close up or repair?

Ask for moisture measurements from the affected materials and relevant concealed areas, not just a visual check. Request the drying target, where readings were taken, progress over time and final results. EPA cautions against sealing flooded cavities or applying finishes before materials are dry internally. Ask the restorer to explain any inaccessible areas or remaining uncertainty and give the rebuilding contractor a written handover.
