Drying and mold

Mold has appeared beneath paint after a leak was cleaned up. Is another coat of paint enough?

No. EPA advises cleaning up mold, drying the affected material and fixing the moisture problem before painting; paint over mold can peel. Ask for an assessment of the moisture source and whether concealed surfaces are affected, rather than assuming the visible patch is the whole problem. Some porous material may need removal. Avoid scraping or opening suspect areas just to investigate: an experienced professional can assess hidden contamination and plan appropriate containment and repairs.
